Chuck Booten and I climbed the North Face Cables Route on Longs Peak in November 2007. The climbing was super fun. The mountain was uncharacteristically empty -- we only saw one other group all day, and they weren't climbing to the top. I guess that's what you get when you climb in the late fall with a storm coming in.
We saw temps around 0F at the start of the technical climbing, which almost turned us around. We didn't want to switch to rock climbing shoes in those temps. Luckily, the climbing was easy enough to keep the boots on.
